Funded through a grant from the Michigan State Housing Development Authority, the City of Durand is awarding up to $1,500 per eligible property for needed exterior home repairs
. Certain restrictions apply such as income guidelines and ownership requirements.
To be considered eligible the property must be single-family, owner occupied and have an identified need such as the need to resolve an existing building code or other violation. A needs assessment can be performed by our building inspector at the request of the homeowner prior to application. The property must also not be subject to any foreclosure proceedings and the homeowner may not be in default to the City on any taxes or other debts. At this time the program is only open to homeowners who live south of Main Street within city limits.

Applications will be accepted on a first come first serve basis and awarded on a rolling basis. Electronic application materials are available above or residents may pick-up hard copies at City Hall during normal business hours.
