In the documents below, you will find information about your rights under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), as well as forms that may be used to request information from the City of Durand. The best way to submit a FOIA request, and ensure that it is processed in a timely manner, is to submit your request in person at City Hall. Requests for information related to police and public safety matters can be sent to the Durand Police Department. Request for information related to administration, finance, tax assessing, or other City services can be sent to the City Clerk's Office.
The State of Michigan Office of the Attorney General has produced a helpful Citizen's Guide to FOIA to help requestors understand their rights and what constitutes a public record under the Freedom of Information Act.
